Patrick Purtill serves as the Director of Legislative Affairs at Faith & Freedom Coalition and is the Charles Evans Hughes Lecturer in Politics at Colgate University. Previously, Patrick practiced law advising corporations on formation, transactions, corporate governance, and compliance issues. In the George W. Bush Administration, he spent three years as Special Assistant to Deputy Attorney General where he served on the Serious and Violent Offender Reentry Initiative Working Group and the Attorney General’s Working Group on Gangs and Drugs; and another two years in the Office of the Secretary of State as Director of New Partner Outreach for the Global AIDS Coordinator. Additionally, Patrick has served as CEO of two Washington-based NGOs: the National Council for Adoption and the Washington Scholarship Fund. Patrick holds a J.D. from the College of William and Mary Law School, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in political philosophy from the University of Dallas.
