Support Arizona SB 1334

Arizona has some of the harshest sentences in the country, sending more people to prison and for longer. What’s more, Arizona taxpayers are stuck footing the bill for these long sentences that don’t make us any safer than our neighbors.

Last year, President Trump signed the First Step Act into law which, among other things, reduced harsh sentencing practices for “repetitive offenders.” These important reforms reduce recidivism rates, keep our communities safe, and save taxpayers a ton.

Unfortunately, those reforms haven’t made it to Arizona.

SB 1334 is Arizona’s last chance to create the kind of criminal justice system Arizonans deserve. This bipartisan bill will make our neighborhoods safer and slow Arizona’s revolving prison door.

But none of that will happen unless it gets Governor Doug Ducey’s support.

Write or call Gov. Ducey TODAY and urge him to follow President Trump’s lead by supporting SB 1334.
